Furniture made entirely from solid wood and hemp lumber

In our workshop in Mszana Dolna we build custom furniture from solid wood and hemp lumber. We combine the traditional craft of Lesser Poland woodworkers with a modern finish—so every piece lasts and delivers a distinctive contrast.

My name is Marcin and I'd like to introduce Five Colors of Wood. The history of our family business began in the 1950s, when grandfather Stanisław, after studying at the renowned school in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, became a vocational instructor at the largest carpentry workshop in Mszana Dolna. As the third generation, I grew up in the workshop of my grandfather and father Józef, absorbing respect for wood from an early age. Though I built a career in IT, my passion for craft has always stayed alive.

Today at Five Colors of Wood we create unique furniture from solid wood and other innovative, natural materials such as hemp lumber. We use traditional carpentry techniques alongside modern technology. This is where your dreams of an authentic interior become reality, and tradition meets the design of the future.

Soft Geometry

Rounded edges, sculptural shapes like pebbles. We love working with unusual and complex forms.

Burl & texture

Brushed, matte, full of knots—wood with character. We combine different species with modern machining and finishing.

Innovation

The latest materials, including hemp and flax lumber. We make sure the result matches what you expect.

Nature as the ultimate reference

At Five Colors of Wood we believe nature is the finest artist. In our craft we avoid artificial dyes, drawing out what is noblest in wood—its authentic colour locked in the grain. Our palette rests on five natural foundations drawn from southern Polish cabinetmaking tradition and innovative ecological materials.

Light & White (Maple, Birch, Fir & Hemp Lumber)

The lightest tones belong to maple and birch, prized in the south for their silky figure. A modern complement is hemp lumber—a high-performance material whose creamy tone fits minimalist, bright interiors.

Sun & Gold (Oak & Robinia)

These are the hues most associated with classic furniture. Sessile oak, king of Polish forests, offers deep honey tones. Alongside it, robinia (black locust) polishes to a golden glow, bringing warmth and natural radiance to interiors.

Passion & Red (Cherry & Wild Cherry)

Little matches the elegance of fruit-bearing species. Bird cherry, once beloved in historic Galician joinery, slowly deepens to a noble reddish brown that gives furniture timeless character.

Mystery & Green (Tulipwood & Heart Ash)

Unusual olive tones appear in tulipwood and select ash boards. These rarer natural variations prove every piece of wood is unique, creating intriguing, "living" accents in our work.

Depth & Black (Bog Oak & Walnut)

The darkest side of our palette is luxurious Italian walnut with a chocolate cast, and legendary bog oak—called "Polish ebony"—whose deep black comes from centuries-long processes, crowning the collection.

Why does it matter?

Choosing Five Colors of Wood means choosing authenticity. Every shade—from the milky white of hemp to the dark depth of bog oak—is the result of a tree's life, not chemical intervention.
